VALLEY
GUTTERS
Valley
gutters come in all shapes and sizes and are
predominantly formed in lead. Lead valley gutters
will last for years as long as they are installed
in the correct way. Problems will occur if:
1. The Lead used is too thin. 2. The lead valley
has insufficient steps or expansion joints.
If the valley gutter has not been installed
properly or through age, splits will start to
appear, leading to water ingress. There are
to ways to recifiy the problem. 1. strip the
bottom rows of tiles out, strip the existing
lead out, then reline with new lead making sure
correct 'CODE' lead and correct expansion joints
are used. 2. strip the bottom rows of tiles
out then reline using a Single Ply System I.E
'Sarnafil'. Single Ply Systems do not need steps
or expansion joints.
